How long do you have wait to tan after laser hair removal?

As long as you wear sunscreen, no time at all.

About a week and then always use a sunscreen.

I’m getting laser hair removal on my face and my nurse (or whatever she is…) told me to wait two weeks before treatment and two weeks after, and since I get it every 4 weeks, basically I shouldn’t be in the sun. But the important thing is to wear A LOT of sunscreen. I tanned a little with sunscreen before my last treatment, and it just hurt a little bit more. It was explained to me that instead of it feeling like a gunshot to a target it’s more of a buckshot that explodes because now the skin around the hair also has pigment and will receive more of the brunt of the treatment. So, depending on where your’s is, I would recommend you wear sunscreen (35+ SPF) and ask your nurse what she recommends. And, make sure you tell her if you do receive sun exposure so she can prepare you for what difference it makes.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods. Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful. Electrolysis and laser hair removal are “permanent” hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged. A review of the various hair removal methods is available at
